A simple idea to change things: It all started with a desire—to live in a world that is a little fairer, more human, more genuine. A world where people matter, not just numbers. Where we can learn, build, make mistakes, and dream together. We looked around and asked ourselves: what if we started with us? What if we tried, in our own small way, to make room for beauty, meaning, and care?
That’s how Lizard was born. Not a perfect organization, but a community on a journey. Made of free people, courageous ideas, and a desire to do something good. We believe that every gesture, even the simplest one, can become part of a greater change. That we can learn every day. That we can work together without competing, but to build something worth living.
We don’t have all the answers, but we have real questions. We don’t promise magical solutions, but real paths. We believe in knowledge that opens the mind, in action that starts from the heart, in collaboration that grows from listening. If you too feel the need for a different way of doing things, for a place where you can fully be yourself and give meaning to your energy, then maybe it’s time to come closer to our project and begin, together, to build change.
What We Actually Do
We started with simple but essential things. If we truly want to create change, we must begin with what sustains life.
Sustainable mobility: for us, moving is not just about getting from one place to another. It’s about reconnecting. With forgotten territories, with isolated communities, with nature, and with that deep sense of belonging we’ve often lost. We’re envisioning light, smart, and clean transport systems—to bring life back where silence has replaced dialogue, and to reconnect what had been separated.
Education and research: we believe in a kind of knowledge that goes beyond books—knowledge you live. Knowledge explored through hands, mind, and heart. That’s why we design programs, workshops, and gatherings for those who want to challenge themselves, grow, and actively contribute. Together, we’re not just building knowledge—we’re shaping change.
Ethical and participatory technologies: we use digital tools not to create distance between people, but to bring them closer. We believe in technologies that simplify daily life, support decision-making, and help people collaborate and feel part of something meaningful. Tools that don’t replace the human element, but support it. Because technology can truly serve life—when it’s designed with care, awareness, and real human needs at its core.
Regenerative culture: we want to change the way we inhabit the world. To rethink how we live in places, how we work, build relationships, and imagine the future. That’s why we create networks, events, and projects that open up new spaces—spaces for reflection, dialogue, dreaming, and acting together. Because change begins when ideas, people, and the courage to do things differently come together.
Every civilization is born when people start moving, meeting, and sharing ideas. The ancient Roman roads, the ports of the Serenissima, the railways that connected continents—these weren’t just infrastructures. They were bridges between worlds, tools that gave rise to new cultures, economies, and visions.
Today, that responsibility is ours. It’s up to us to imagine new pathways—not just physical ones, but cultural and social ones too. Paths that regenerate instead of deplete. Paths that bring us closer to the land, to our resources, to each other. And to ourselves.
We believe change starts here: with a new way of moving, learning, growing, and caring for the world and those who live in it. We don’t need heroic gestures—just small, daily choices. Shared projects. Ideas that walk together, step by step.
Because waiting isn’t enough. If we want real change, we need to start walking. And if you feel like being part of this new beginning—stand up. And walk with us.
Cooperate and Walk with Us
Maybe you, like us, feel that something needs to change. That we can no longer just stand by, hoping someone else will take the first step. That the time has come to step forward—with whatever we can offer, even if it seems small.
Joining this project means becoming part of a journey alongside real people who have chosen to take action. It means being part of a living community where ideas, experiences, skills, and energy are shared. Where new ways of learning, working, and living better are built—together.
Because change doesn’t happen on its own. It’s a path made of daily gestures, of encounters, of choices.
Signing up is exactly that: your first step. A concrete act that says “I’m here. I want to do my part. I want to contribute.”
You don’t need to be an expert, or perfect, or fully prepared. You just need the willingness to take part. Because every strength, every idea, every story is needed—including yours.
Within the Lizard association, there are different ways to participate and become part of the project, designed to meet a variety of needs, availabilities, and levels of engagement. The main distinction lies between two broad types of membership: on one hand, an online format, ideal for those who wish to support and experience the association remotely; on the other, a more operational and local format, dedicated to those who want to actively contribute in the physical spaces made available by the association.
Becoming an Online Member is the simplest and most immediate way to connect with the Lizard community. It’s designed for those who live far away or have limited time but still want to be part of the project’s life, stay connected, access training content, and contribute with ideas, proposals, and skills. Through the digital platform ONet Workspace, online members can join virtual meetings, explore thematic domains, follow training paths, and participate in working groups and collaborative activities remotely. It’s a light yet meaningful form of membership, opening the door to deeper involvement.
For those who want to experience the association in a more immersive and daily way, it’s possible to become an Active Member. In this case, participation also takes place in physical spaces: offices, labs, local clubs, and activities spread across the territory. It’s a more direct engagement, requiring presence, care, and commitment. Active members contribute to the concrete development of projects, share knowledge and experiences, and help the community grow through live relationships and continuous collaboration.
Alongside individuals, organized entities—such as associations, public or private institutions, enterprises, and schools—can also choose to become partners or associated organizations. This form of membership is based on co-design and the shared development of research, training, and innovation paths. Through dedicated tools, access to advanced content, and opportunities for exchange, Lizard works with its partners to build a fertile ecosystem for cooperation, knowledge transfer, and positive impact in the regions.
In any case, the first step to getting closer to the project is to become an Online Member: a choice open to everyone, offering the opportunity to gradually discover the network, values, tools, and opportunities of the association. From there, each person or organization can find their own way to contribute—according to their time, interests, and capacities. Because participating in Lizard doesn’t just mean joining an initiative: it means becoming part of a cultural and cooperative movement in continuous evolution.
