A simple idea to change things: It all began with a desire — to live in a world that’s a bit fairer, more human, more real. A world where people matter more than numbers. Where we can learn, build, make mistakes, and dream together. We looked around and asked ourselves: what if we started with ourselves? What if we tried, in our own small way, to make space for beauty, meaning, and care?
That’s how Lizard was born. Not a perfect organization, but a community in motion. Made of free people, courageous ideas, and a desire to do something good. We believe that every gesture, even the smallest, can become part of a greater change. That it’s possible to learn every day. That we can work together not to compete, but to build something worth living for.
We don’t have all the answers, but we ask real questions. We don’t promise magical solutions, but real paths. We believe in knowledge that opens the mind, in action that comes from the heart, in collaboration that grows from listening. If you too feel the need for a different way of doing things — a place where you can fully be yourself and give purpose to your energy — then maybe it’s time to get closer to our project and begin, together, to build change.
Cosa facciamo concretamente
What We Actually Do
We started with simple yet essential things. If we truly want change, we must begin with what sustains life.
Sustainable Mobility:
For us, movement is not just about going from one place to another — it’s about reconnecting. With forgotten territories, with isolated communities, with nature, and with that deep sense of belonging we often lose. We are imagining lightweight, intelligent, and clean means of transport. To bring life back where silence has replaced dialogue. To reconnect what was once separated.
Education and Research:
We believe in knowledge that goes beyond books — knowledge that is lived. Knowledge explored with the hands, the mind, and the heart. That’s why we design learning paths, labs, and gatherings for those who want to get involved, grow, and contribute actively. Together, we don’t just build knowledge — we shape change.
Ethical and Participatory Technologies:
We use digital tools not to separate people, but to bring them closer. We believe in technologies that simplify everyday life, support better decision-making, encourage collaboration, and help us feel part of something greater. Tools that don’t replace the human, but support it. Because technology can truly serve life when it is designed with care, awareness, and real human needs at its center.
Regenerative Culture:
We want to change the way we live in the world. To rethink how we inhabit places, how we work, how we build relationships, how we imagine the future. That’s why we create networks, events, and projects that open new spaces — where people can reflect, share, dream, and act together. Because change begins when ideas, people, and the courage to do things differently come together.
Every civilization begins when people start to move, to meet, to share ideas. The ancient Roman roads, the ports of the Serenissima, the railways that connected continents — these were not just infrastructures: they were bridges between worlds, tools that allowed new cultures, economies, and visions to emerge and grow.
Today, that responsibility is ours. It’s up to us to imagine new paths — not only physical, but cultural and social ones too. Paths that don’t consume, but regenerate. Paths that bring us closer to the land, to our resources, to others — and to ourselves.
We believe change begins here: with a new way of moving, learning, cultivating, and caring for the world and those who inhabit it. We don’t need heroic gestures, just small daily choices. Shared projects. Ideas walking together, step by step.
Because waiting is not enough. To truly change, we must begin the journey. And if you feel that you, too, want to be part of this new beginning — stand up. And walk with us.
Cooperate and Walk with Us
Maybe you too, like us, feel that something needs to change. That we can no longer stand by, hoping someone else will eventually take the first step. That the time has come to get involved — each of us with what we can offer, even if it seems like little.
Joining this project means stepping into a path made of real people who have chosen to act. It means becoming part of a living community where ideas, experiences, skills, and energy are shared. A space where new ways of learning, working, and living better are built — together.
Because change is not something that just happens. It’s a journey made of daily gestures, encounters, and choices.
Signing up is just that: your first step. A concrete way of saying, “I’m here. I want to do my part. I want to contribute.”
You don’t have to be an expert, perfect, or fully ready. You just need the desire to take part. Because every strength, every idea, every story is needed — including yours.
Types of Membership
Within the Lizard association, there are different ways to participate and become part of the project, designed to meet a wide range of needs, availability, and levels of engagement. The main distinction lies between two major forms of membership: on one hand, the online membership, created for those who wish to support and engage with the association remotely; on the other, the more hands-on and local membership, for those who want to contribute actively in the physical spaces made available by the organization.
Becoming an Online Member is the simplest and most immediate way to connect with the Lizard community. It is intended for those who live far away or have limited time, but still want to be part of the project, stay connected, access educational content, and contribute with ideas, proposals, and skills. Through the ONet Workspace digital platform, online members can take part in virtual meetings, explore thematic domains, follow training paths, and join working groups and remote collaborative activities. It’s a light but meaningful form of membership that opens the door to increasingly deeper participation.
For those who wish to engage with the association in a more immersive and day-to-day way, there is the option of becoming an Active Member. In this case, participation also takes place in physical locations: hubs, laboratories, local clubs, and territorial initiatives. This form of involvement is more direct and requires presence, care, and commitment. Active members contribute concretely to project development, share knowledge and experiences, and help the community grow through genuine relationships and continuous collaboration.
Alongside individual members, organized entities — such as associations, public or private bodies, businesses, and educational institutions — can choose to become partners or associated organizations. This type of membership is based on co-design and the shared development of research, training, and innovation programs. Through dedicated tools, access to advanced content, and opportunities for dialogue, Lizard works with its partners to build a fertile ecosystem for cooperation, knowledge transfer, and positive territorial impact.
In all cases, the first step toward joining the project is to become an Online Member — an option open to everyone, allowing for a gradual discovery of the network, values, tools, and opportunities of the association. From there, every person or organization can find their own way to contribute, according to their time, desires, and possibilities. Because being part of Lizard doesn’t just mean joining an initiative — it means becoming part of a living, evolving cultural and cooperative movement.
