Lizard is an international cultural association dedicated to research and advanced education, where science, awareness, and experience intertwine to create new paths of personal and collective learning.
Among our main projects, we are developing a hybrid space – both digital and physical – dedicated to holistic education, designed as a gateway for those who wish to begin a journey with us. This is not a simple website or archive, but an experiential threshold: a sensitive, interactive environment capable of accompanying each person in a gradual, intuitive, and profound way.
In this context, we speak of the metaverse in a symbolic and evolutionary sense: not as a virtual world with no purpose, but as an extension of the human experience. A space where the boundary between physical and digital dissolves, making room for discovery, imagination, embodiment, and consciousness. Technologies do not replace reality, but rather amplify it, making it more vivid, relational, and meaningful.
Our environment fosters authentic connections between people, content, and places. Every experience – a workshop, a meditation, a dialogue, or an immersive practice – is designed to activate presence, feeling, critical thinking, and awareness.
All of this is part of our Smart Mobility Program, which reimagines mobility in an innovative way: not just as physical movement, but as the movement of consciousness. For Lizard, to evolve means to open up to new perspectives, and to enter into a deep relationship with oneself, others, and the planet. This is why we promote an integrated form of mobility: physical, inner, and cognitive – capable of connecting territories, people, and knowledge, both within and beyond ourselves.
ONet Workspace is an integrated digital platform developed to coordinate and optimize in real time the complex operations involving heterogeneous systems such as aircraft, ground vehicles, drones, simulators, and intelligent infrastructures. Its primary role is to enable advanced mobility management, but its function extends deeply into the field of education and learning.
In the educational context, ONet Workspace represents an experiential environment where theoretical knowledge and practical operations converge. It does not merely provide data or technical tools, but builds a learning ecosystem in which every action — whether real or simulated — becomes part of a continuous educational process. The platform allows for the integration of diverse disciplines, supporting interdisciplinary learning paths oriented not only toward technical skills, but also toward process awareness, operational responsibility, and the ability to act within complex contexts.
Through real-time interconnection with actual vehicles and environments, ONet Workspace transforms every operational scenario into a situated learning opportunity. Users — whether students, operators, researchers, or decision-makers — can observe, interact, simulate, and reflect on dynamic situations supported by up-to-date data and predictive models. This approach fosters the development of not only technical, but also systemic and relational skills — essential for meeting the challenges of future mobility.

Foundational Education and Guided Learning in ONet Workspace
Within the ONet Workspace system, foundational education represents the first level of access to a broad, integrated, and transformative learning journey. It is designed for students of all age groups — from primary school to lower and upper secondary levels — and is based on the idea that a solid, interdisciplinary, and living general culture is essential for developing active citizenship, critical thinking, and openness to the future.
This foundational level includes core knowledge across classical and scientific disciplines, such as:
Mathematics and applied logic
Physics and mechanics
Chemistry and biology
Computer science and digital technologies
Electronics and the principles of automation
Native language and effective communication
Foreign languages, with a focus on comprehension and exchange
Civics and law, to understand the rules of shared living
History and geography, approached in an evolutionary and interconnected way

The goal is not merely to transmit content, but to offer cognitive, linguistic, sensory, and relational tools that allow students to navigate the real world with curiosity and competence, and to move confidently through the next stages of their education.
To make this process more engaging and personalized, the ONet Workspace system introduces dialogic avatars — intelligent virtual assistants capable of adapting to the student’s level and interests. These avatars are not simple automated tutors, but interactive mentors designed to stimulate learning through dialogue, storytelling, discovery, and the co-construction of knowledge.
Avatars can:
Propose differentiated learning paths based on age and cognitive style
Ask questions, encourage reasoning, and suggest interdisciplinary connections
Guide students through immersive experiences (simulations, educational games, digital experiments)
Build bridges between foundational knowledge and more advanced application domains such as robotics, aeronautics, sustainability, or artificial intelligence
In this model, foundational education is not conceived as a preliminary or isolated phase, but as a dynamic and fertile gateway to a holistic and interdisciplinary learning journey — where knowledge is not compartmentalized, but lived as a concrete, meaningful, and transformative experience.
Within the Smart Mobility Program, experimentation is not confined to a closed or simulated environment, but is deeply integrated with real-world operations. The digital systems currently under development, organized within the ONet Workspace platform, are designed to interact in real time with active field vehicles such as aircraft, ground vehicles, drones, and autonomous platforms. Every piece of data collected — from position to performance parameters, from environmental conditions to system feedback — feeds a dynamic cycle of learning and continuous optimization, enabling a fluid interaction between technology, territory, and people.
This vision is a core element of our holistic and interdisciplinary education model, which combines scientific rigor with experiential, technical, and evolutionary dimensions. We do not merely deliver skills; we offer a transformative experience in which learning means exploring, integrating, and acting with awareness. In this context, field experimentation becomes a powerful educational tool: not only for testing systems, but for generating applied knowledge, operational responsibility, and shared vision.
The year 2026 will mark the launch of the first operational phase in Estonia, chosen for its advanced digital infrastructure, regulatory flexibility, and aviation-friendly innovation ecosystem. In 2027, the program will expand to Italy, with the integration of the new simulation laboratory in Zugliano (VI) into the operational network. This center will be equipped with next-generation simulators capable of representing complex predictive scenarios in real time, connected to real operations, in an augmented reality framework that merges physical and digital environments.
This approach is also inspired by previous landmark experiences — among them, the Mediterranea Free Flight project, led by ENAV and Eurocontrol, which pioneered the integration of simulation and operations in a distributed scenario in Europe. In that context, our first simulator was used to create an experimental network supporting the free-flow management of air traffic in the Mediterranean basin. Although the environment at the time was simpler, the experience provided a concrete foundation for the more articulated, interactive, and adaptive model we are now developing.
These tools will enable us to deeply analyze the impact of introducing the Zephyrus ONE and Zephyrus 19 aircraft, designed to overcome the constraints of conventional aviation and operate even from unprepared airstrips. These features make the aircraft particularly well-suited for resilient, decentralized, and accessible mobility, capable of efficiently and continuously connecting islands, inland areas, marginal territories, and low-density communities.
In this scenario, experimentation takes on a new dimension: it is no longer an isolated test, but a living, distributed, and predictive process in which every operation — whether real or simulated — contributes to generating value, knowledge, and continuous improvement. It is the concrete expression of an emerging scientific paradigm, one that goes beyond the processing of information to embrace the evolutionary meaning of processes, integrating rational, relational, and perceptual dimensions.
